JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 18, 2019 – Coker Law is pleased to announce the addition of attorney Dana Jacobs as the newest member of the firm. She holds an AV Preeminent rating, the highest rating possible from Martindale Hubbell, which is the most prestigious attorney-peer-review system. She is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Georgia. Throughout the first decade of Jacobs’ litigation career, she represented individuals in cases regarding insurance defense, premises liability, automobile and trucking accidents, wrongful death and toxic tort, as well as insurance companies and self-insured companies. Prior to joining Coker Law, she was a partner with the Saalfield Shad firm. She previously practiced insurance defense at Boyd & Jenerette in 2008, after receiving her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
“I’m looking forward to using the valuable insight I gained into the way insurance companies value cases and conduct claims-handling procedures to obtain the best possible results for my clients,” said Jacobs. “It is a privilege that I am able to help individuals, through what might be the hardest time of their lives, receive the justice they deserve.”
Before attending law school, Jacobs graduated in the top five of her class from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications and obtained her degree in public relations with a minor in criminology. Jacobs spent the following year working at a medical malpractice firm in South Florida before beginning law school at the University of Florida. While attending law school, Jacobs was a member of the moot court team and received the prestigious “Best Oralist” and “Best Team” awards in the Final Four Competition.
“The addition of Dana truly helps us create an even more effective team of trial lawyers with expertise in taking on the insurance industry,” said Coker Law Partner Dan Iracki. “Dana will be able to utilize the knowledge and insight she gained from being a defense attorney and working with insurance companies to really make a difference for the individuals we represent, helping them receive the best possible results.”
Jacobs is also involved in many community organizations including the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and the Jewish Community Alliance.
